CUBS SWEPT IN ATLANTA

Max Fried took a perfect game into the sixth inning and Nick Markakis drove in five runs on five hits to give the Atlanta Braves a 9-4 win over the Chicago Cubs Thursday night at Suntrust Park in Atlanta. The 25 year old Fried, a left-hander, recorded 17 straight outs to open the game with the Cubs getting their first baserunner in the sixth. He allowed one hit and no walks with five strikeouts in six innings to go 1-0. The Cubs scored all their runs in the top of the ninth with both Anthony Rizzo and Javier Baez homering. Yu Darvish (0-1) took the loss for the Cubs. The Cubs are 1-5 and have lost five straight. They will be in Milwaukee Friday night to open a three game series against the Brewers.
