The April Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits will be issued early for some in Illinois. The Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) announced that SNAP benefits will be loaded onto Link cards between April 1 and April 10. Those who usually get their benefits between April 1st and April 10th will receive them on their regular schedule. Those who typically receive their benefits after the 10th of the month, will receive their April benefits on April 10th. The IDHS reports that May benefits will be back to its regular schedule. The change is to reduce the time in between the March and April benefits that some recipients faced.
