Wilbur Lee Stevens 87, formerly of Lawrenceville passed away Friday, March 8, 2019 at the home of his daughter in Decatur, AL.

Wilbur was born January 27, 1932 in Bridgeport, IL to Earl Paul Stevens and Hortense Shipley Stevens.

He was a graduate of Bridgeport Township High School class of 1951. He was drafted into the Army in 1952 and served in the Korean War. While station at Ft. Leonard, MO, the movie The Glory Brigade was being filmed at which time he was casted as an extra before being deployed.

He owned and operated Stevens Body Shop for 30 years before retiring. Wilbur worked hard to provide a good life for his family. He was a long time member of the Assembly of God Church in Bridgeport.

Wilbur is survived by two daughters, Janice Reeves and fiancé Steve of Hartselle, AL, Joni Stevens Wolf and husband Rick of Decatur, AL., two stepdaughters, Kathy Pemberton and husband Danial of Indianapolis, IN, Barb Williams and husband Greg of Bridgeport, IL., five grandchildren, Matthew Wilson and wife Cheryl of Bulls Gap, TN., Christopher Gosnell of Moulton, AL., Angela Reeves and fiancé Greg of Florence, AL., Shane Pemberton of Indianapolis, IN., Blake Williams of Bridgeport, IL.,

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Wesley. Kenneth, and Joe Stevens, two sisters Lorraine “toots” Brines and Bernadine Stevens, one grandson Aaron Wayne Gosnell and two loving wives Carol Sager Stevens and Helen Stevens.

The Funeral Service will be on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 12:00 P.M. at Glasser Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery, Lawrenceville, Illinois
