The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the WAKO listening area today until 6 p.m. Freezing rain is expected. Light icing is expected across portions of southern Illinois, southwestern Indiana, and western Kentucky. Slick travel conditions are likely to develop, especially on bridges and overpasses. Looking ahead, a system may bring snow to the region Saturday night and Sunday. Wind chills below zero could also be part of the weekend weather picture.
