INDIANS CLOSE REGULAR SEASON WITH WIN

The Lawrenceville Basketball Indians closed out the regular season Friday night with a win over the Paris Tigers on Senior Night at LHS. The Tribe led 18-6 after one quarter and held off the pesky Tiger ballclub with pressure trapping defense and solid scoring nights from seniors R.J. Nelms with 22 points and Zeus Marsh with 15. With the win the Indians are now at .500 with a 14-14 record overall and 4-4 in the Little Illini Conference. The Indian JV also finished a good year with a 68-60 over the Tigers. Cale Powell led the scoring with 24 points, Skyler Tewell added 18 and Noah Weger had 14. It is on to Class 2A regional play at Mt Carmel next Wednesday for the Indians as they meet county rival Red Hill in semi-final play Wednesday at 7 p.m. It will be the third meeting between the two with the Salukis winning the first two games.
