Jon C. Frohock, age 79, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away Monday, February 11, 2019 at the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville, Illinois. He was born February 4, 1940 in Harrisburg, Illinois, the son of George Cecil and Thelma (Galeener) Frohock. He married Brenda Stallins on December 27, 1964 and she survives.

Jon was a graduate of Harrisburg High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, and specialist degree from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Jon started his teaching career at Ridgeway, Illinois. He became the guidance counselor at Cairo High School and then the principal at Cairo Junior High School. He worked at the West Richland High School for four years as the guidance counselor and then as the superintendent of schools. In 1973, he became the principal of Lawrenceville High School, where he worked for 21 years. He retired in 1994 and took a year off before returning as a substitute teacher for 10 years.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda; one son, Keith Frohock and wife, Beckie, of Bradenton, Florida; and two grandchildren, Ryker Glenn Frohock and Rylie Kay Frochock.

Private graveside services will be conducted at the Sunset Hill Cemetery in Harrisburg, Illinois. There will be no local visitation. In Jon’s memory, the family requests that memorial donations may be made to the Lawrence County Humane Society.
