LADY INDIANS LOSE REGULAR SEASON FINALE AT HOME

The Lawrenceville Lady Indians lost their regular season final home game Thursday night to the top team in the Little Illini Conference-the Paris Lady Tigers 64-39. The Lady Indians trailed 19-14 after one quarter and only by six 28-22 at the half. But the Lady Tigers put the pressure on coming out in the third quarter and assumed a 47-29 lead after three quarters and went on to the win-their 23rd against only 7 losses. The Lady Indians who played without starting guard Katelyn Higginbotham  were led by Jayley Akers with 18 points. They finish the season at 15-13 overall and 4-4 in conference play. The loss also snapped a two game winning streak. The Lady Indians will next see action Monday in the first round of the Class 2A Edwards County regional at Albion. They will face the Red Hill Lady Salukis in a Lawrence County battle at 7 p.m.
