Bonnie Faye Hasler, 80, of Bridgeport, Illinois passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019 at her residence, with her family surrounding her. She was born August 19, 1938 in Wabash County, Illinois, the daughter of James W. and Anna Christina (Shepard) Puntney. She married Noel Hasler on June 1, 1956 and he survives.

Bonnie was a beautician and operated The Boutique of Beauty out of her home for about 15 years. She volunteered for the American Red Cross as a Disaster Relief Agent and was called to 25 disaster relief missions across the United States. In 2010, she received the Clara Barton Award for 40 years of service with the Red Cross. Her memberships included New Hope Christian Church, Women’s Club of Bridgeport, and Delta Theta Tau of Bridgeport.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Fred Puntney and his wife, Evelyn, and Warren Puntney; and one sister, Virginia Jones and her husband, Bill.

Survivors include her husband, Noel; two sons, Rick Hasler and wife, Cindy, of Bridgeport, Illinois and Anthony Hasler of Daly City, California; one daughter, Christina Ginder of Vincennes, Indiana; four grandchildren, Jesse Ginder, Cole Ginder, Adrienne Vanderbilt and husband, Justin, and Katie Hasler Peissig and husband, Jeremy; three great-grandchildren, Kaylie Ginder, Korbin Ginder, and Alena Vanderbilt; an adopted daughter in the heart, Deb Ayers of Bridgeport, Illinois; and sister-in-law, Bonnie J. Puntney of Mt. Carmel, Illinois.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Orio Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross or a charity of the donor’s choice.
