Two Police Officers Injured in Three-Vehicle Accident

   Two Lawrenceville police officers were injured in a three-vehicle accident on U-S 50 just east of Lawrenceville Sunday night. 39 year-old Erika Boger of St. Francisville was reportedly texting and driving when she ran off the road. Boger’s 2008 GMC Acadia struck the rear of a 2010 Ford Crown Victoria Police car driven by Kody Waggoner of Vincennes. Waggoner’s police car was then forced into the rear of a 2018 Ford Taurus Police car driven by 36 year-old Brian Middlecoat of Sumner. Both officers were working on a traffic stop at the time of the accident. Waggoner was struck while he was outside his vehicle. He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes for treatment. Middlecoat was injured and taken to Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville. Boger was charged with operating while intoxicated, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, illegal transportation of alcohol, and texting while driving. She was taken to the Lawrence County Jail.
