Both officers were working on a traffic stop at the time of the accident. Waggoner was struck while he was outside his vehicle. He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes for treatment. Middlecoat was injured and taken to Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville. Boger was charged with operating while intoxicated, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, illegal transportation of alcohol, and texting while driving.
