The Red Hill Basketball Salukis won third place Friday night at the Little Illini Conference Tournament in Flora with a 56-50 win over the Marshall Lions. The game was tied at 16 after the first quarter and the Salukis trailed 29-24 at halftime. They raised their level of play in the third period to assume a 41-37 lead and then hit key hoops and free throws down the stretch in the fourth quarter to cement the win. Drew Moore paced the Salukis with 19 points, Parker Havill scored 16 and Nathan Wirth 12. The win gives the Salukis a 16-8 record and avenges a loss to the Lions in Bridgeport earlier in the season. They will next play a rescheduled conference contest Tuesday at Paris.
