Two Sentenced in Lawrence County Circuit Court

   Lawrence County State’s Attorney Michael Strange announced that two people were sentenced in Lawrence County Circuit Court this week. 53 year-old Randy L. Reynolds of Lawrenceville was re-sentenced to three years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a charge of aggravated domestic battery.  Reynolds had previously been placed on two years of felony probation; but admitted to violating the terms of his probation by providing drug screens that tested positive for methamphetamine. Reynolds’ prison sentence will be followed by four years of mandatory supervised release. Reynolds is also required to pay fines as well as court costs.

   34 year-old Allen W. Byers of Sumner was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a charge of unlawful possession of methamphetamine. That will be followed by one year of mandatory supervised release. Byers is also required to pay a $500 drug assessment as well as court costs.
