INDIANS SALVAGE ONE OF FOUR GAMES AT X-MAS TOURNEY

The Lawrenceville Basketball Indians snapped a three game losing skid Saturday when they beat Chicago Julian 55-39 for 15th place in the 16 team Effingham-Teutopolis Christmas Classic Tournament. The Tribe lost their opener at the tourney to Teutopolis Thursday night 73-43. Zeus Marsh had 13 points and Connor O’Dell 11 in the loss. On Friday the Indians dropped two games-58-44 to Chicago Brooks and 63-53 to Altamont. Jordan Jones had 13 points and Blayne Winningham 10 against Brooks. Winningham had 17, O’Dell 13, Jones 11, and Skyler Tewell 10 in the Altamont contest. In the win over Julian the Indians broke open a close game  24-16 at the half with a 25 point third quarter to secure the win. O’Dell pumped in 21 points and Winningham added 17. The Indians went 1-3 in the tournament and are now 6-8 overall. They will be back in action Wednesday when they play at Hutsonville.
