The Red Hill Basketball Salukis will play for the championship of the 65th Annual Conrad Allen Holiday Tournament Saturday night. They made their way to the title tilt with a 57-42 win over host Wayne City Friday night. The Salukis led 14-7 after one quarter and extended the lead to 30-15 at the half. The Indians rallied in the third quarter to narrow the lead to 40-32 after three and did cut the margin to five in the final period. However, the Salukis hit some key baskets off turnovers, made some defensive stops, and hit their free throws down the stretch to pull away for the win. Good balanced scoring also helped with four players in double figures led by Drake Allen with 14, Parker Havill with 13, and Drew Moore and Connor McKinney with 11 each. With the win the Salukis go 3-0 in their pool and are 7-4 overall with three straight wins. They will face the Gallatin County Hawks at 7:30 p.m. for the championship. They also went 3-0 in their pool with a 58-43 win over North Clay Friday. You can catch the championship action on the Legend 99.3 FM and AM 910 with Ryan Seed and Rob McKinley.
