The Lawrenceville Basketball Indians won their third game in a row Tuesday night but not without a battle. The Tribe were tested by a solid Edwards County Lions team but survived with a 61-56 win at LHS. The Indians led by one after one quarter 16-15 but the Lions rallied in the second to lead 29-27 at the half. The visitors also led by 2 after three quarters 44-42 and the game see-sawed back and forth in the final period before the Indians hit some key buckets and just enough free throws to pick up the victory. Zeus Marsh led the scoring for the Indians with 25 points, Jordan Jones added 11 and R.J. Nelms 10. The Indians also won the preliminary games–Frosh-Soph 34-20 and the JV 42-35 behind Cale Powell with 11 and Skyler Tewell with 10. With the win, the Indians improve to 4-4 while Edwards County drops to 5-3. The Indians are off till Tuesday, the 18th when they finish up a four game homestand against Fairfield.
