BIG FOURTH QUARTER GIVES OLNEY WIN OVER SALUKIS

The Olney (Richland County) Tigers broke the game open with a big fourth quarter Friday night at Ron Herrin Gym and beat the visiting Red Hill Salukis 66-36. The Salukis despite not shooting well on the night trailed 20-11 after one quarter, 31-20 at the half, and 44-33 after three before being blitzed by the hosts in the final period. Parker Havill was the only Saluki in double figures with 16 while Brent Hatton led three Tigers in double digits with 18. With the loss, the Salukis fall to 4-4 overall and 1-1 in the LIC while Olney improves to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in league action. The Salukis are back on the hardwood Saturday at noon against Cisne in pool play at the 65th annual Conrad Allen Holiday Tournament in Wayne City. The Salukis won at Cisne in the season opener November 19th 60-37.
