Robert ‘Dean’ Fisher, 76, of Flat Rock, Illinois passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, Illinois. He was born October 22, 1942 in Birds, Illinois, the son of Charles Kenneth and Blanche Ruth (Ducharme) Fisher. He married Frances ‘Fran’ Miller on April 20, 1963 and she survives.

Dean was a lifelong carpenter and farmer. He was a member of the Allison Prairie Church of the Brethren, where he served as a deacon and a trustee. He had a talent of working with his hands. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and word search and jigsaw puzzles, but he especially loved to tease. He was a good husband, dad, and grandpa. He loved his family as well as his dog, Rufus.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two infant sisters, Charlene and Marlene; and one grandson, Robert Michael Fisher.

Survivors include his wife, Fran; two sons, Robert Andrew ‘Andy’ Fisher and wife, Stacie, of rural Flat Rock, Illinois and Michael Dean ‘Mike’ Fisher and wife, Kara, of rural Flat Rock, Illinois; two brothers, Charles Fisher and wife, Karen, of rural Flat Rock, Illinois and Don Fisher and wife, Kay, of Wooster, Ohio; two sisters, Nancy Buttolph and husband, Russ, of rural Flat Rock, Illinois and Pat Fisher of Flat Rock, Illinois; four grandchildren, Shelby (Cody) Waggoner, Carson Dunlap, Caleb Fisher, and Maddison Fisher; and two great-grandchildren, Madi Waggoner and Lauren Waggoner.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Allison Prairie Church of the Brethren. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Burial will be in the Centerville Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Allison Prairie Church of the Brethren, Centerville Cemetery Fund, or Lawrence County Humane Society.
