A two-vehicle accident occurred in Lawrence County over the weekend. Vehicles driven by Darrell Bailey of Lawrenceville and Matthew Ramirez of St. Francisville collided on Illinois Route 1 near County Road 960 North when Bailey swerved from the northbound lane into the soutbound lane. Bailey then left the accident scene before later being apprehended. Neither driver was injured. Two passengers in the Ramirez vehicle also escaped injury. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene. Lawrence County authorities cited Bailey for leaving the scene of an accident. Bailey was also wanted on warrants for driving without a license and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon. Ramirez was cited for driving without vehicle insurance.
