Parker Havill made a key three point basket and two free throws in the final seconds to help the Red Hill Basketball Salukis edge the Lawrenceville Indians 55-54 Friday night in a Lawrence County battle Friday night in Bridgeport. The Tribe led 11-10 after one quarter, but the host Salukis rallied to lead 29-25 at the half. They extended the lead to 42-31 after three quarters before the Indians made a late comeback to cut the lead to single digits in the final moments. The Indians did have the ball with a chance to win but a Zeus Marsh baseline jumper was offline and the Salukis picked up the Little Illini Conference win. Havill led the way for the 4-3 Salukis with 21 points and Drew Moore added 19. The 1-4  Indians placed four in double figures led by Marsh with 18, Noah Weger 11, and Jordan Jones and Blayne Winningham each had 10. The Indians won the JV game handily 63-25 with Skyler Tewell scoring 11 and Daymon Parkman and Brenyn Winningham 10 each. The Salukis will take a two game winning streak to Olney next Friday while the Indians will look to get back on the winning track Tuesday at home against Oblong.
