The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the WAKO area from 3 pm this afternoon until 6 pm Thursday evening. Snow, occasionally mixed with light freezing rain, is expected to develop across the area. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 3 inches with isolated higher amounts, along with ice accumulations of up to around one-tenth of an inch are expected throughout southwestern Indiana and southeastern Illinois east of Interstate 57. A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Expect slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving. The latest road conditions for Illinois can be obtained by calling 1-800-452-4368.
