Lawrence County State’s Attorney Michael Strange announced that an Olney man was sentenced in Lawrence County Circuit Court this week. 22 year-old Jordan K. Hemrich of Olney was re-sentenced to one-and-a-half years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a charge of unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Hemrich had previously been placed on two years of first offender felony probation; but admitted to violating the terms of his probation by providing drug screens that tested positive for methamphetamine. Hemrich’s prison sentence will be followed by one year of mandatory supervised release. Hemrich is also required to pay fines as well as court costs.
