Lawrence County State’s Attorney Michael Strange announced that a Chicago man was sentenced in Lawrence County Circuit Court this week. 35 year-old Brandon M. Cole was sentenced to three years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a charge of aggravated battery. That will be followed by two years of mandatory supervised release. Cole is also required to pay court costs. Cole committed the offense while incarcerated in the Illinois Department of Corrections. The sentence will run consecutive, or after, the sentence he is currently serving.
