CUBS HANDLE WHITE SOX; MAGIC NUMBER DOWN TO FIVE

Kyle Schwarber homered and drove in two runs Sunday to lift the Chicago Cubs to a 6-1 win over the White Sox in the finale of their interleague crosstown series at Guaranteed Rate Field. Ben Zobrist also added three hits to back the solid pitching of Kyle Hendricks who limited the Southsiders to one run and four hits over 7 2/3 innings. With the win, the Cubs reduce their magic number to clinch the NL Central Division to five. The Cubs open up a four game series with the Pittsburgh Pirates Monday night at Wrigley Field. Jamison Tallion (13-9) will go for the Pirates while Cole Hamels (4-1) will pitch for the Cubs.
