Kevan Smith slammed a three run homer in the bottom of the second inning and pinch hitter Daniel Palka added a two run shot later in the game to give the Chicago White Sox a 10-4 win over the Cubs in game one of their interleague crosstown series at Guaranteed Rate Field Friday afternoon. The offensive outburst more than enough to back the pitching of White Sox starter Reynaldo Lopez who held the Cubs to one run and five hits over seven innings. Jose Quintana took the loss against his former team. The loss trims the Cub lead over Milwaukee to 1 1/2 games. The Cubs resume the series with game two Saturday night behind Jon Lester (16-6) who will face Lucas Giolito (10-11).
