CUBS ROLL OVER DBACKS; INCH CLOSER TO DIVISION TITLE

MVP candidate Javier Baez and Daniel Murphy each blasted two run homers as the Chicago Cubs jumped out to an early lead Tuesday night and hammered the Arizona Diamondbacks 9-1 in game two of their three game series at Chase Field in Phoenix.  Mike Montgomery pitched six innings and allowed one run on four hits and struck out eight. The D’Backs have now lost four in a row and are slipping out of playoff contention. The Cubs have won five of six and have increased their lead in the NL Central to 3 1/2 games over Milwaukee who lost at home to Cincinnati. The Cubs will go for a sweep Wednesday night as they send Cole Hamels to the mound against Robbie Ray (5-2).
