Javier Baez delivered the go-ahead run with a bunt single in the top of the 10th inning and that proved to be the game winner as the Chicago Cubs edged the Washington Nationals 4-3 Thursday in the makeup of a game postponed last Sunday. The bunt scored Kris Bryant who had doubled and moved to third on an infield single. Pedro Strop picked up the win in relief but had to leave the game with a hamstring injury running out a ground ball. Randy Rosario worked the bottom of the tenth for his first career save. The win stretched the Cub lead in the NL Central to 1 1/2 games over the idle Milwaukee Brewers. The Cubs are back at Wrigley Field to open up a three game series against the Cincinnati Reds Friday. Game one was originally scheduled to be an afternoon affair but has been changed to a night game at 7:05 p.m. Matt Harvey (7-8) is set to pitch for the reds against Cole Hamels (4-0). Due to high school football coverage on Lite 103 the game will not be heard. Join Lite 103 WAKO Saturday afternoon for game two of the series with broadcast time at 2:30 p.m. Central Time 3:30 p.m. Eastern.
