Kenneth Raymond Blackwell, age 83 of Bridgeport, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Monday, September 10, 2018. He was born in Bridgeport on October 21, 1934 to Frank and Pauline (Mann) Blackwell.
Kenneth married Lillian Bousley, and she preceded him in death in April of 2002.
After graduating from Bridgeport Township High School, he entered the United States Marine Corp. He proudly served during the Korean War. Once home, Kenneth went to work for and retire from CSX Railroad.
Surviving family includes: two daughters- Susan Carmichael and husband Kelsey of Bone Gap and Julie Breault and husband Garry of Bridgeport: two sons- Mike Blackwell of Lawrenceville and Steve Blackwell and wife Lynn of Bridgeport: one sister- Betty Brian and husband Dave of Sumner: ten grandchildren: and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents- Frank and Pauline Blackwell: his wife- Lillian Blackwell: one sister- Patty Jo Wirth: and three brothers- Junior Thomas, Jim Blackwell, and Ronnie Stokes.
A funeral service will be held for Kenneth Raymond Blackwell at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at the Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening also at the funeral home. Final resting place will be in the Bridgeport City Cemetery.
