Tom Nash, age 75 of Lawrenceville, passed away in Bridgeport at Aperion Care on Thursday, September 6, 2018. He was born August 20, 1943 in Vincennes, IN to Robert Leslie Nash and his wife Ada Pearl (Tapley).

Tom’s first wife, Marci Nash, passed away in an auto accident. He then married Patsy Price in September of 1982 at Shiloh Baptist Church, and she survives.

He joined the United States Army directly after graduating high School. He proudly served his country for 20 years. He served two tours in Vietnam and retired 1982 as 1st SGT-B- Battery Command at Fort Sill, OK.

Tom was a log-time member of the Shiloh Baptist Church. He worked at and retired from Red Hill Unit 10 School District as a Janitor. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Blue Lodge (Mason) 32 Degree at Danville, Shrine-Ainad of East St. Louis, and the Military AUSA. Tom also devoted a lot of his time to helping with the Bridgeport Senior Citizens. He was always willing to help someone in need.

He is survived by: his wife- Patsy (Price) Nash of Lawrenceville: three children- Marci K. Williams and husband Gerald of High Point, NC, Cynthia A. Albiez and husband Jose of San Bernardino, CA, and Derrick T. Nash and wife Sonya of Vincennes, IN: very close extended family- Cathy Smith and husband Kim of Vincennes, IN and Patrick Burris of Springfield, IL: one sister- Roberta Burton of Summerville, SC: one brother- Jerry Nash and wife Nettie of Lyons, IN: and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Tom was preceded in death by: his parents- Robert Leslie Nash and Ada Pearl Nash: first wife- Marci Nash: and one sister Sue Hatfield.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 10, 2018 at the Cunningham-Young Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Visitation will be held Sunday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery in Vincennes, IN. Military rites will be given at the cemetery.
