David Bote doubled home the tiebreaking run in the top of the 10th inning Thursday night to help the Chicago Cubs beat the Washington Nationals 6-4 in game one of their four games series in the nation’s capital. The Cubs trailed late until the 8th inning when Kris Bryant scored on a fielders choice to tie the contest at 4. After Bote doubled to break the tie, he scored on a two out hit by Taylor Davis. The outcome moves the Cubs 4 1/2 games ahead of Milwaukee and 5 games in front of the Cardinals in the National League Central Division. Game two of the series is Friday night with Jon Lester (15-5) going for the Cubs against Joe Ross (0-0) for the Nats. The game will not be heard on Lite 103 WAKO due to high school football. Coverage resumes Saturday night with game three.
