LADY SOFTBALL BRAVES LOSE; MISS SOFTBALL SALUKIS WIN IN REGIONAL ACTION

The Parkview Lady Softball Braves season ended Wednesday with a first round loss in the Effingham Class AA Regional tournament to Charleston at Charleston 16-1 in 4 innings. Charleston scored their 16 runs on 15 hits with 1 error while the Lady Braves scored a run on 1 hits with 5 errors. Madelyn Garza drove in the Parkview run with a sacrifice fly while Krislyn Thacker had the only hit. Karleigh Shick took the pitching loss. The Lady Braves finish at 8-8. Meanwhile at Leigh Ann Westall Field in Bridgeport, the Red Hill Junior High Miss Salukis remained alive in the postseason with a 4-1 first round win over Oblong in the Class A Casey Regional. Oblong did have the tying runs on base when the game ended. The Miss Salukis will advance to the semifinals Saturday at Casey. They will face  second seed Cumberland at 12:15 p.m. Cumberland shut out Martinsville 12-0 in first round play.
