HAMELS OUTSTANDING IN CUBS WIN OVER REDS

Cole Hamels pitched a complete game and remained unbeaten as a Chicago Cub in a 7-1 win Thursday night over the Cincinnati Reds at Wrigley Field. He allowed eight hits with seven strikeouts and two walks in the first route going performance by a Cub pitcher this season. He was backed by Javier Baez who had three hits including a long solo homer, his 27th of the season and Anthony Rizzo with two hits including a two run homer and three RBI. Game two of the four game series is Friday afternoon with Alec Mills (0-0) called up from Iowa to start for the Cubs against Matt Harvey (6-7) for the Reds. The game can be heard on Lite 103 WAKO beginning with the pregame show at 12:45 p.m. Central Time 1:45 Eastern.
