Pinch-hitter David Bote hit a grand slam homer against Ryan Madson with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning Sunday night to lift the Chicago Cubs to a 4-3 win over the Washington Nationals at Wrigley Field. Madson entered the contest with a 3-0 lead to start the ninth and things quickly unraveled. He gave up an infield single and hit two batters to load the sacks before Bote deposited a 2-2 pitch over the center field wall sending the crowd into delerium. The come from behind victory enabled the Cubs to win two out of three in the weekend series. The win coupled with a Milwaukee loss to Atlanta increased the Cubs lead in the National League Central Division to three games. The Cubs are idle Monday and return to Wrigley Tuesday for a brief two game set against the Brewers.
