Catcher Austin Hedges hit a go ahead three run homer and Robbie Erlin threw two hit baseball over five innings to lead the San Diego Padres to a 6-1 win over the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field Thursday night. The win ended a seven game Padre losing streak. Hedges homered off reliever Jesse Chavez in the top of the sixth, one of 15 Padre hits on the night. Erlin allowed one run, struck out four and walked one in his third start of the season. Game two of the four game series is Friday afternoon with Tyson Ross (6-8) going for the Padres and Jose Quintana (9-7) for the Cubs.
