Three Sentenced in Lawrence County Circuit Court

 Lawrence County State’s Attorney Michael Strange announced that three people were sentenced in Lawrence County Circuit Court this week.  24 year-old Dalton R. Holmes of Vincennes was re-sentenced to four years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a charge of unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle.  Holmes had previously been placed on 24 months of felony probation; but admitted to violating the terms of his probation by providing a drug screen that tested positive for methamphetamine. Holmes’ prison sentence will be followed by two years of mandatory supervised release.  Holmes is also required to pay fines as well as court costs.

  42 year-old Chad W. Wimberly of Lawrenceville was re-sentenced to 42 months in the Illinois Department of Corrections on charges of unlawful possession of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.  Wimberly had previously been placed on 24 months of felony probation; but admitted to violating the terms of his probation by failing to appear for probation appointments and drug screens. Wimberly’s prison sentence will be followed by one year of mandatory supervised release for each charge.  Wimberly is also required to pay fines as well as court costs.

   42 year-old Jeremie D. Cummins of Lawrenceville was sentenced to 30 months in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a charge of unlawful possession of methamphetamine. That will be followed by one year of mandatory supervised release. Cummins is also required to pay a $500 mandatory drug assessment as well as court costs.
