Two people were injured in a single-vehicle accident in Clay County Wednesday morning. 23 year-old Nadia Young of Flora was driving west on Old US Route 50, about two miles west of Flora, when her Dodge Durango left the north side of the roadway. The vehicle struck a culvert and came to rest in a yard. Young left the accident scene. However, injuries to both Young and a male juvenile passenger caused a third party to notify an ambulance and law enforcement. Illinois State Police cited Young for improper lane usage, driving under the influence, failure to report an accident and child endangerment.
