Lawrence County State’s Attorney Michael Strange announced that two people were sentenced in Lawrence County Circuit Court this week. 25 year-old Tyler Mardyla of St. Francisville was re-sentenced to three-and-a-half years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a charges of burglary. Mardyla had previously been placed on 24 months of felony probation; but admitted to violating the terms of his probation by providing drug screens that tested positive for illicit substances. Mardyla’s prison sentence will be followed by two years of mandatory supervised release. Mardyla is also required to pay fines as well as court costs.
25 year-old Celesta Cornwell of Lawrenceville was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a charge of unlawful possession of methamphetamine. That will be followed by one year of mandatory supervised release. Cornwell is also required to pay a $500 mandatory drug assessment as well as court costs.
