Vantlin, Kopp-Hopwood Win in Primary Races

 Voters across the state of Indiana went to the polls Tuesday for the primary election. Knox County had two contested County Republican primary races to consider, with both the Sheriff’s and Assessor’s races being contested. Doug Vantlin beat out Mike Fisher, Chris Harmon and Dean Shingeck for the Republican Sheriff’s nomination. In the race for County Assessor, Kelley Kopp-Hopwood defeated incumbent Cathy Lane. As of right now, Hopwood is running unopposed for County Assessor in the November general election. Turnout for Knox County’s primary election was reported at 30 percent.
