CUBS HAMMER MARLINS AT WRIGLEY

Ian Happ homered from both sides of the plate and drove in 5 runs to lead the Chicago Cubs to a 14-2 win Monday night over the Miami Marlins in game one of their three game series at Wrigley Field. The Cubs scored 14 runs on 15 hits with Kris Bryant and Javier Baez also going deep. Kyle Hendricks pitched 8 innings of two run ball to pick up the win. The victory snapped a five game losing skid for the Cubs. They will play the second game of the series Tuesday night. Jose Urena (0-5) will go for Miami against a starter to be determined for the Cubs. The scheduled Cub starter Yu Darvish was put on the 10 day disabled list with the flu.
