Miles Mikolas scattered 7 hits over 7 shutout innings Friday night at Busch Stadium in St Louis leading the Cardinals to a 3-2 win over the Chicago Cubs in the opener of their three game series. Tommy Pham provided the scoring with a three run homer off Cub starter and loser Jose Quintana. Bud Norris picked up the save for the Redbirds despite allowing 2 runs in the top of the ninth. The win was the third in a row for the Cards and the loss the third in a row for the Cubs. The series continues Saturday afternoon with Tyler Chatwood pitching for the Cubs and Luke Weaver for the Cardinals.
