Two people were found dead Wednesday evening in Louisville, Illinois. Clay County sheriff’s deputies responded to an address in Louisville to investigate a 911 hang up call. Deputies arrived and attempted to make contact with someone at the residence, but were unable to do so. Deputies were able to view a portion of the interior of the residence, and spotted someone laying on the floor who appeared to be unresponsive. Deputies entered the residence and located a male and female who were both dead. The two have been identified as 59-year-old Ann VanDyke and 61-year-old Mark Lane, both from Louisville. The deaths were apparently due to gunshots. Clay County State’s Attorney Joel Powless says nothing has been confirmed to him as to who was the shooter in the incident; nor any possible suspects in the matter. The investigation has been turned over to the Illinois State Police Zone 7 Investigations, Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services, and the Clay County Coroner’s Office.
