LOCAL TEAMS PLACE IN HIGH SCHOOL TRACK MEET AT LAWRENCEVILLE

Lawrenceville High School hosted a multi-team girls and boys track meet at Ed Loeb Field Wednesday. In the girls competition, Robinson was first with 165 points, Vincennes Rivet second with 113 points and the Lady Indians were third with 87 points. For the Lady Indians, Stephanie Bach won the 3200 meters and Elsie Whewell the pole vault. The Red Hill Lady Salukis were sixth with 39 points. Katie Moore won the 300 intermediate hurdles. In the boys meet, Palestine-Hutsonville was first with 93.5 points, Red Hill was second with 72 points. Taking firsts for the Salukis were Max Smiegel in the 1600 meters, Gavin Rucker in the 400 meters, and Cade Bensen in the shot put. Lawrenceville was third with 62.5 points. Leading the way for the Indians was James Burk with wins in the 300 hurdles and the 110 high hurdles, Cole Sumner in the pole vault, and Lathan Chisholm in the long jump.
