Javier Baez homered and drove in three as the Chicago Cubs won a slugfest Sunday at Colorado 9-7. The Rockies did load the bases with two outs in the bottom of the ninth but Nolan Arenado was called out at the plate trying to score on a wild pitch. The play was overturned by replay after Arenado was initially called safe. The win was the good news on the day. The bad news was that third baseman Kris Bryant had to leave the game early after being hit in the head by a 96 mph pitch from Rockies pitcher German Marquez. A team spokesman said that Bryant did suffer a cut under one eye but passed all the concussion tests. The Cubs have the day off Monday and will open a brief interleague series in Cleveland against the Indians Tuesday.
