The Newton Lady Softball Eagles soundly beat the Lawrenceville Lady Indians in Little Illini conference play Thursday at Phil Alsman Field in Lawrenceville 11-1. The visitors scored their 11 runs on 11 hits and made 2 errors while the hosts were held to 1 run on only 2 hits and made 5 errors. Abby Gartner took the loss for the Lady Indians their third in a row. They are now at 5-6 on the season.
