Michael G. Baker, 58, of Bridgeport, Illinois passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018 at his residence. He was born August 10, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of John Edward and Yvonne (McCabe) Baker. He married Cheryl Rossow on December 20, 1980 and she survives.

Michael worked in maintenance at Louis Bakery for 16 years. He coached football, umpired baseball and softball, as well as refereed volleyball. His memberships included the Moose and the Knights of Columbus. He was a very generous man, who always put others first.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Cheryl; one son, Jack Richard Baker and wife, Samantha, of Glendale Heights, Illinois; two daughters, Christine Louise Baker of Glendale Heights, Illinois and Franziska Rang of Hamburg, Germany; two brothers, Edward Baker of Napa, California and Terrence Baker and wife, Diane, of New Lenox, Illinois; two sisters, Carol Fox of Midlothian, Illinois and Joanne Rupprecht and husband, Paul, of Denver, Colorado; and one grandchild, Olivia Baker.

Michael’s wishes were to be cremated with no formal services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Michael’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
