A Flat Rock man was sentenced to nine years in prison in Lawrence County Circuit Court Monday afternoon. 67 year-old Uriah Robinson was found guilty of aggravated battery during a jury trial last month. Robinson was convicted after striking another inmate while being held on another charge at the Lawrence County Jail. Robinson avoided the maximum sentence of ten years. Robinson’s nine year sentence will be followed by one year of mandatory supervised release. Robinson is also required to pay all applicable fines and court costs. Robinson indicated after sentencing that he would appeal. Robinson was remanded back into the custody of the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department.
