CUBS SHUT OUT BY REDS IN SERIES OPENER

Rookie Tyler Mahle pitched one hit baseball while striking out 7 over 6 innings to lead the Cincinnati Reds to their first win of the season 1-0 over the Cubs at Great American Ballpark Monday. It was the second consecutive shutout loss for the Cubs who are now 2-3 on the season. Eugenio Suarez of the Reds scored the only run of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning on a groundout by Adam Duvall.  Starter Tyler Chatwood took the loss for the Cubs. Raisel Iglesius struck out Anthony Rizzo with the bases loaded in the top of the 8th before picking up the save. The two teams finish up the brief two game series Tuesday night.
