Lawrence County authorities cited a Bridgeport man following a single-vehicle accident Sunday morning. Eric Harris of Bridgeport was driving on Illinois Route 33 south of the US 50 overpass near Westport when he veered off the roadway. Harris’ vehicle ran into an Illinois Department of Transportation road sign. Harris then left the scene. Harris was later cited by sheriff’s deputies for failing to report the property damage accident. Harris was not injured. A passenger in his vehicle also escaped injury.
