Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum has announced that the city has been awarded over $5.3 million-dollars in funding from the Indiana Department of Transportation for the reconstruction of Washington Avenue from Emison Avenue to Belle Crossing. The project includes a new roadbed, curbs, gutters, bike lanes, lighting, sidewalks and storm sewers. Mayor Yochum says a 20% match from the city’s EDIT fund makes this a $6.7 million-dollar project. Yochum says design work will begin later this year and construction is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2021.
