Janice Lynn Laslie, 54, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. She was born May 16, 1963 in East Chicago, Indiana, the daughter of Rudolph and Bessie ‘Granny’ (Dolman) Ruzich. She married Bruce Laslie on June 16, 2004 and he survives.

Janice and her husband owned and operated Bosso’s Grill. She was an administrative assistant at the Lawrenceville City Hall, as well as a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Her hobbies included painting, reading, traveling to beaches, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals; but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were parents; one brother, Rudolph Ruzich, Jr.; and one sister, Rose M. Turnage

Survivors include her husband, Bruce; three sons, Danny Ralston and wife, Anastasia, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Bruce Laslie, Jr of Lawrenceville, Illinois, and Braxton May of Lawrenceville, Illinois; four daughters, Shellie Masterson and husband, Trent, of Sumner, Illinois, Whitney Blocher and husband, Stephen, of Vincennes, Indiana, Patricia ‘Patti’ Laslie of Lawrenceville, Illinois, and Kayla Wells and husband, Steven, of Sumner, Illinois; one brother, William Ruzich of Lawrenceville, Illinois; two sisters, Sandra Kiser and husband, Bill, of Lawrenceville, Illinois and Kathy Foster and husband, Rob, of Lawrenceville, Illinois; and 12 grandchildren, Geovanni Ralston, Emmanuel Ralston, Elijah Masterson, Grace Masterson, Tessa Lynn Masterson, Felicity Wells, Luke Wells, Nolan Laslie, Riley Quarterman, Ashlyn Snyder, Colsyn Blocher, and Gibson Blocher.

Funeral services will be Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 10:30 AM CST at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. A Rosary Service will conclude the visitation at 7:15 PM. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Janice’s memory may be made to the Lawrence County Cancer Resource Center and Wig Shoppe.
