INDIANS LOSE AGAIN TO NEWTON

For the second time in less than a week, the Lawrenceville basketball Indians have lost to the Newton Eagles. The Tribe were beaten Monday night 61-43 in Newton in a rescheduled game from earlier in January. The Indians had lost to the Eagles in the LIC tournament at Bridgeport. Nick Cohorst was key to the Newton win as he was dominant inside with 24 points. Teammates Jack Chapman and Zach Jansen each added 12. The Eagles led 23-11 after one quarter and 38-22 at the half enroute to their 15th win of the season. For the Indians, Zeus Marsh led the way with 12 points while Skyler Tewell and Jordan Jones each had 10. With the loss, the Indians drop to 4-15 overall and 1-4 in conference play. Newton also won the JV game 55-48 with Noah Weger scoring 18 points for the Indians. Cale Powell added 12 and Christian Beamon 10. The Indians step out of conference Tuesday night as they host the Mt. Carmel Golden Aces.
