Funeral Services Set for Cullen

Funeral services have been set for Knox County native Lieutenant Clayton Robert Cullen. Cullen, who was with the 4th Infantry Division, was one of two people who died in a helicopter training accident in southern California January 20th. According to news reports, the accident happened  in the pre-dawn hours around Fort Irwin, where Cullen was training in an Army helicopter when it crashed in the Mojave Desert. Reports said the AH-64 Apache helicopter was flying “readiness training exercises” when the crash happened.

Funeral services for Clayton Cullen will be Saturday at ten a-m eastern at North Knox High School on State Road 159 north of Bicknell. Visitation will be Friday from two to seven p-m eastern at the high school. Burial with full military honors will take place in the Bicknell Memorial Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made in his honor to the North Knox Scholarship Foundation or to the Fisher House Foundation. Frederick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home in Bicknell is taking care of the arrangements. Cullen is the son of Robert and Julie Cullen of Edwardsport.
